A Lifetime of Service to Greenville

Greenville has been home to Paul Wickensimer for most of his life. Over the decades, he has built a career centered on public service, community involvement, and making government work better for the people it serves.

Paul began his career with BellSouth, now AT&T, where he worked in communications, customer service, training, and community relations. His service in local government began on Greenville County Council, where he served from 1985 to 2000, including time as Chairman.

​

In 2000, Paul was elected Greenville County Clerk of Court, a position he held for 23 years. During his tenure, he worked to modernize the court system, improve efficiency, and make government services more accessible to the people of Greenville County.

Serving District 22

Today, Paul proudly represents House District 22 in Greenville County. He serves on the House Judiciary Committeeand Government Efficiency & Legislative Oversight Committee, bringing decades of experience in local government and the court system to his work in Columbia.

His experience gives him a unique perspective on government accountability, public safety, the judicial system, and making state government more efficient and responsive to taxpayers.

Community & Family

Paul’s commitment to Greenville extends well beyond elected office. Throughout his career, he has been involved with numerous civic, charitable, and community organizations and has remained committed to serving veterans, seniors, and families throughout the Upstate.

​

His years of public and community service were recognized in 2021 when he received the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor.

Paul is a man of deep faith and an active member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church. He enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, following college football, and staying involved in the Greenville community he has called home for decades.
